Well, it’s happening. Today. Right now. I’m 40. Today is my birthday. A new decade starts for me. I was extremely stressed and anxious when I was turning 30. This time, I kind of don’t care.
I don’t like traditional fruit cakes eaten generally in Christmas time. I got to know these cakes when I moved to Helsinki, but I never became fond of them. This one, though, is a delicious version as it doesn’t have too many different fruits and also, almonds adds a nice texture. Oh and by the way, there is no plum in it.
I like rice pilaf a lot. And I like making different types of it, mixing with a variety of ingredients, such as different kinds of spices and lentils like this recipe.
These buttery cookies have my favourite nut and my favourite dried fruit!
Whenever I make something with pecans, I remember how expensive they are – at least in Finland that is. I mean, I find nuts generally quite expensive here, but pecans really exceed in that. But well, they are delicious and they are used in a moderate amount in this recipe so it’ll be fine.
I love a good old wholesome salad as a main dish. I mostly make a salad with grains if I am to eat it alone, but this salad is extremely filling and delicious by itself too. And it’s very easy to make!
I made this pie twice last week and in both times I almost ate the whole thing just by myself. It’s THAT good. Well, I also happen to love broccoli so, there’s that.
