Finding My Way Into Norwegian Cuisine – Eat Oslo!

The moment I received the shocking message of all times from my Canadian, I wanted to get away from Helsinki for a short weekend break. I had been planning to visit the last Scandinavian capital left for a while, so I immediately bought my ticket to Oslo and left Helsinki for a 3-days visit to the land of coziness. Three days were enough – I fell in love with the city. I am pretty sure it also has something to do with my host – The Norwegian – who was the best host ever: welcoming, helpful, funny, optimist, a bit dreamer (like me) and always having a big smile on his face, with his slanted eyes making him cuter and cuter. Until my little trip to Oslo, for about a week, I hadn’t slept, at least not without taking sleeping pills, but in Oslo, in The Norwegian’s home, I felt so comfortable and peaceful that I slept like a baby.

Eat This: Spaghetti Bolognese in Mare Chiaro

Update on 18.11.2018: This restaurant no longer exists. About 2 weeks ago on Friday I was at school when it suddenly started snowing. Everything happened so quickly, within an hour all Arabia was covered with snow and it didn’t look like it would stop anytime soon! But we had already made plans with friends and no matter how snowy it was, we went out anyway. And our choice was Mare Chiaro on Hämeentie, in Kallio – my new neighbourhood.

Eating Stockholm – A Weekend’s Culinary Trip

I’ve been living in Helsinki for 4.5 years and I never travelled to Stockholm, which is almost next door, until recently. My good friends, Utku & Nisan – a lovely Turkish couple, who moved to Stockholm from Helsinki at the end of last summer so finally this gave me an inspiration for a weekend trip. Now I want to go again.. and again.. and again.. and also to learn Swedish..

Drink This: Latte in Caffi

Update on 18.11.2018: This cafe no longer exists. I am not a coffee person really. I like tea, nicely and heavily brewed tea, but I am not so keen on coffee. I drink coffee, yes, but I cannot always tell the difference between good and bad coffee. I have an espresso machine at home, but I bought it to make tiramisu any time I want.

Eat This: Salad with Chicken, Feta and Artichoke in Mbar

Update on 18.11.2018: This cafe / bar no longer exists (unfortunately!!). By now you already know that I love cooking and baking in my dear kitchen. Well yes I do, but every now and then I like eating out too. So I decided to add this section to my blog and give tips about what to eat where briefly – mmm things that I like eating, places that I like eating in.
