Ideas for a Sunday brunch at home
I love Sunday brunches. I generally like “going out” for brunch, but every now and then, I like preparing a nice Sunday table for friends – especially here, in my new, peaceful and beautiful apartment!

Ever since I came to Finland, I’ve had all sorts of smoked fish – especially salmon of course. I usually bought them ready from Stockmannin Herkku or from Kauppahalli in Hakaniemi. But I had never ever actually cooked salmon myself. So, on Friday, I lost my virginity on that and cooked salmon for the first time in my life. I could not believe how easy it was! And oh my, baking the salmon in the oven does result in an extremely light and delicious way – I can go back to eating salmon now!
This time last year I was 65 kilos and I was in a big depression after a bad breakup. From July until October, I lost 15 kilos by the help of Dukan diet and right now I am lighter physically and I have a lighter depression.
In my family, it was always, but always my mother who cooked. We, the kids, were all supposed study and make our homework and do not interfere with her work in her kitchen. This is why I didn’t know how to cook anything at all for a long time.
Here is a little scenario: you worked all day in the office, you feel a little sick and it is Monday. Right before you leave the office, a friend calls and tells that he’d like to stop by for dinner. You don’t want to turn him down, so what do you do? You make a simple and delicious salad – after all, you shouldn’t be eating a heavy dinner anyway!
On 1st of March, I threw a party: my housewarming party for my 5. apartment in Helsinki. It was an opportunity to be with friends but the other great thing was preparing for the party, aka cooking the whole Friday long!
