My lovely cousin, whom I saw after 9 years in Paris recently, gave a wonderful tip: steam the vegetables! And as soon as I came back from Paris, I started steaming, oh boy, the vegetables never tasted better.
Today’s steamed vegetable is a dear one: celery root. By steaming it, I realized that aside from how healthy it is, it is also extremely fresh and it preserves all its taste and beautiful smell. Besides, it cooks in about 5 minutes!
Ingredients:
250 gr. celery root (in K-market and in many other markets as I saw, they sell celery root in package, each is about 250 gr.)
2 table spoons of red wine vinegar
1/2 table spoon of mustard
1 coffee spoon of sugar
1 table spoon of water
1 table spoon of olive oil
2 spring onions
Fresh parsley, salt and pepper
—
1. Peel celery root and cut it into small pieces. Put them immediately into the steamer pot before they turn their colour, and start cooking.
2. In a small bowl, mix red wine vinegar and mustard. I used Clovis vinegar and mustard as seen in the picture. Clovis also has a delicious Dijon mustard, you can use that as well.
3. Add sugar, water and olive oil into the mixture and continue mixing.
4. In a separate place, chop spring onions and parsley into small pieces.
5. When celery is ready, take it out of steamer and put into a big bowl. Add spring onions and parsley. Finally, add the sauce mixture and mix them well altogether. Add some salt and pepper in the end.
