Here is a type of meze that can be found everywhere in Turkey, in various forms. The one that I will give the recipe of is the torpedo-shaped fried version. Another version I have eaten until now is the boiled one which I think comes from Southern Turkey (but I cannot give the exact place of origin).
This is actually quite an old recipe that I forgot to publish! I found the photos while I was looking for some other photos and decided to publish right away!
Yes, I am becoming quickly addicted to different versions of hummus. And yes, I like making colourful food, using the actual bright colours of the ingredients themselves.
I had never made hummus myself before. And now when I did, I had to do a different version of course, with avocado!
A few weeks ago, in K-market in Kamppi, I saw a package of colourful carrots. They looked so much like the usual suspects. They were beautiful with different colours. I had to do something with them.
Isn’t summer more colourful in everything? I tried to make another colour combination for this delicious and healthy summer salad for lunch.
I looked everywhere for this salad. I wanted to have a colourful salad made out of only raw ingredients. I would have a green and yellow salad with a touch of red. I had zucchini and tomato so I looked everywhere for summer squash. None. I guess summer squash is as late as summer in the North.
Define spicy in 3 words: Gambas Pil Pil. It’s been 2 months since Panu cooked this deep fried prawns for me, and I can still feel how hot it was as I am writing this post..
Soon after I started the Facebook page of the blog, a Turkish girl liked the page: Erin Turkoglu. As I do with any other “liker” that I do not personally know, I checker her Facebook profile. To my surprise, she was living in Helsinki. Oh wow, she was even a student in Aalto ARTS! How come didn’t I see her?
I am not really a jam person. I think I was, at some point when I was a child. I liked eating my mother’s delicious strawberry jam. But that was it. I guess the way I like eating jam the most in the recent years is with sausage. Yes, you read it correct, I like dipping sausage into jam, so sue me!
