I love mushrooms. I can eat them all day, every day. But until I came to Finland, I didn’t know how vast the world of mushrooms was!
My favourite in cold winter days is soup. A hearty soup. Yet this year I rarely had any, because the winter has been barely here. No proper snow, no proper cold. But I did remember to have soup finally last weekend.
I love new and different flavours. Their recipes are generally the most exciting ones. Like this cookie recipe.
Yes, you can use this both as a direct spread on your bread or crackers, or you can use it as a sauce, for example for your pasta.
Yes, celeriac is my favourite vegetable. I posted several celeriac recipes over the years (find them here). This is yet a new trial, turning them into vegetable balls!
I decided to start this week with a simple enough recipe. I mean, mashed potatoes, how hard can it be? In this recipe, you just add a few extra ingredients to potatoes and then you’re good to go. But oh, that garlic flavour…. yum.
As the title indicates, I am not sure if there is a real name for these cuties. We always called them “cirikta”. But some call a similar recipe “cilikta”. Some call it “pisi” but I’m pretty sure it’s not pisi because pisi is rather yeasted dough. I just like calling them cute little monsters because of the shape of fried dough!
I like rice pilaf a lot. And I like making different types of it, mixing with a variety of ingredients, such as different kinds of spices and lentils like this recipe.
I love a good old wholesome salad as a main dish. I mostly make a salad with grains if I am to eat it alone, but this salad is extremely filling and delicious by itself too. And it’s very easy to make!
